Inter-Faith School Supply Donations

SchoolSuppliesWishList

Are you and your kids looking to serve others this weekend? Inter-Faith is collecting school supplies until Monday, July 29 at various locations. The girls and I chose to go to Target, but I bet a dollar store has a lot of what you need! Both kids enjoyed picking out backpacks, pencils, notebooks, etc. for somebody else as much as they enjoy picking them out for themselves (almost). Plus, they are learning the importance of helping people. Here is a list of drop off locations and a supply list. Have fun!

Parenting Safe Children

I attended this 3 hour seminar regarding child sexual abuse prevention right here at Our Father Lutheran Church two years ago. Please check out their website to read more information and to find a seminar that will fit into your busy schedule. (The following was taken from the website.)

About the

A New Year of MOPS!

The OFLC MOPS year is nearly upon us. Our first meeting is Friday, September 6 from 9:15-11:30AM in the Community Room. I encourage you to invite fellow mom-friends to join us! We’ll need all the help we can get “cleaning up our messes.”

Beautiful_Mess_Logo_small

Moms live in messes. The toys, crumbs, and spit-up are their natural
surroundings. Moms often feel like a mess. They are exhausted, under-showered,
and hormonal. Their past and present circumstances and decisions can leave them
feeling inadequate for God’s love and purposes.  A Beautiful Mess —
reminds moms that beauty can come out of their difficult spots. The grime of
mothering young children brings the beauty of motherhood. The bruises of life
can bring God’s redemption. Embrace Your Story — reminds moms that their past,
present and future can be used for good. God knows where each of us has been,
where we are today and has set in motion where we are headed.

Forwe are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do
the good things he planned for us long ago.

                                                               Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation)

Here are some of our potential topics this year:

  • Embracing Your Story:
Exploring, comparing, and contrasting how you were parented with how you parent your children to become a more confident mom.
  • Cleaning Up Our Children’s Messes:
Learning to parent to your child’s temperament and ensuring your child grows God’s way.
  •  Getting Your Mess Together:
Have you equipped your family to be prepared if you are not around? Organizing your finances and important legal documents.
  • Embracing Marriage Among Your Mess:
Cooperating, supporting, and loving your spouse when life gets complicated.
  • Staying Healthy When Life Gets Messy:
Learning about proper nutrition for you and your children.
