Preschool Prep Review

Last summer I came across an educational DVD program from the Preschool Prep Company. I knew nothing about it, but purchased the set because I had a Living Social coupon. The first time my 3-year-old and I watched it, I found it incredibly annoying. However, she was completely engaged. In a nutshell, each DVD shows a cartoon word (or letter, number, etc.) on the screen while a voice repeats the word several times using different inflections (the irritating part). In addition, the word transforms into a cartoon that is completing a task, such as hiking or flying. That’s it-short, simple and to the point. To my surprise, after watching the sight word DVD’s for a couple of weeks my daughter remembered the words! In fact, she currently recognizes 45 sight words. We have since ordered the sight word books that accompany the DVD’s and she can read them herself!  Check out their website to get more information: http://www.preschoolprepco.com/.
