On Friday, we had a fascinating meeting featuring speaker Ray W. Lincoln. He taught us that children are given strengths in order for them to become exactly what God wants them to be. It is our job as parents to encourage those strengths. He also says weaknesses are self-made and are developed in three ways:
1. nonuse of strengths
2. overuse of strengths
3. misuse of strengths
Our job is to guide our children to use and broaden their strengths in a positive way. With that said, we are encouraged to learn each of our children’s temperaments in addition to our own in order understand and communicate with them effectively.
Check out Mr. Lincoln’s website for resources about how to achieve this extraordinary goal!
