We had another huge turnout at our meeting! Melissa gave a great devotional about accepting ourselves and others for who we are. We all have that figurative (or literal!) “baby bump” that we should bravely accept, rather than trying to hide it or judging ourselves (or others) too harshly. The devotional was based on Romans 12, specifically: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” and vs. Romans 12:6 “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” We all have different likes and dislikes, thing we are good at and not good at, things we enjoy and don’t enjoy. It’s important that we learn to accept certain things about ourselves and courageously take the path God has placed us on.
We spent a good part of the meeting working on our Dream Catcher craft. If anyone has a picture of their masterpiece they would be willing to share, please email it to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will post.
Reminders: Some helpful comments have been posted on the blog for getting your kiddos to eat their vegetables. Be sure to check it out. Remember, those who make comments will be entered in a drawing at our next meeting! At the moment, the odds are looking good for Jeri, Linda, and Laura ;). Also, you should have received an Evite to our Halloween Trick or Treat event. Please RSVP if you haven’t already done so. We look forward to seeing all the adorable kids in costume. And the nursing home folks will really enjoy their young smiling faces. Hope you can make it! If not, we will see you at our next meeting in November.
