October 16 Meeting Recap

Hi everyone!  We had our first craft meeting of the fall and made beautiful Giving Plates.   They’re to fill up with food and give to someone, then they do the same and give it to someone else, and so on.  Such a great connection with our flourishing friendships theme this month, and teaching our kids the joy of giving with no expectation of something in return.

To make the plates:
Use ceramic plates (the ones at Ikea were recommended) and write on them with glass art markers from JoAnn’s (see below).  Put the plates in a cold oven and heat it to 350 degrees.  Bake at 350 for an hour, then turn off the oven and let them cool in the oven.
Speed Friending was our other activity today.  We had two rows of ladies standing, facing each other. We had a few minutes to ask questions, the bell would ring, then we would shift rows and talk to someone else for a few minutes. and repeat..so fun!!

Upcoming events (see emails for details):

October 28:  MNO at Vanessa’s for Fondue Night

October 30:  Trick or treating at nursing home with kiddos in costume (always a fun time for the kids and older folks)

November 6:  meeting 9:30-11:30 – Embracing a Heart of Gratitude
